Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Wow! What a wonderful verse concerning self-examination.
So many people can gaze at the faults and flaws of others with an air of superiority without ever taking a moment to examine their own hearts, thoughts, deeds and words… And when they do examine themselves, they judge their words and actions based...
on their own level of acceptability – not God’s.
Many times our thoughts, intents and actions are found to be acceptable in our own sight because of the agenda we’ve set before us – however, we will only grow closer unto God if our words and hearts are acceptable in HIS sight… Because, if they’re not acceptable to Him, that means that our agenda is not HIS agenda and we’re harming the cause of Christ instead of helping it!
My prayer is that if you claim to be Christ’s - if you call Him LORD - if He redeemed you as David proclaims here - examine the words that proceed from your mouth and the meditation of your heart and judge if those things would be acceptable unto the Lord Jesus – Creator of Heaven and Earth... and if you find that they are not, seek God’s face – repent from your own will and selfish agenda and have the same mind as David when he wrote Psalms 27:8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
