First, I want to say that my heart goes out to all those affected by the shooting at Sandy Creek Elem. School - especially those parents who have lost a child... I shutter to think of what they must be experiencing at this moment, and they will be in my prayers.

After reading the many stories relating to the tragedy on various news websites today, I want to offer some a perspective that is not being reported...

1)  I've seen multiple stories permeating CNN, Yahoo, AOL & such demanding new / stricter gun laws.  Many celebs are chiming in with their 'infinite wisdom' on the matter as well (why anyone cares what the Lohans / Kardashians of the world have to say is beyond me anyway), but I digress.  As far as the gun argument aspect goes, I'll just say this:

a. The only way you'll keep someone intent on killing others by using a gun is to ban ALL GUNS EVERYWHERE (and ultimately it still wouldn't matter).  There is a 14 day waiting period in CT to buy a handgun (what was first reportedly used in the murders), but it didn't matter, because the guns were registered to his mother, whom he killed!  The rifle reportedly used was a semi-automatic weapon, again obtained legally. There is no law that could have prevented him from having access to those guns - except for banning ALL guns. My point is, all the gun laws do is hinder the honest, sane consumer from buying them... Crazies, drug dealers & the like can get them illegally just as easy as buying a bag of dope - this leads me to:

b. If some of those teachers in the school had been packing, maybe some of those lives may have been saved.  Why is this point not being brought up?  1- You can't legislate crazy & 2- LAWS ONLY DETER THOSE WHO ARE BOUND TO ABIDE BY THEM!

2) This country does not have a gun problem, this country has turned into a Godless society.  Episodes such as what happened today has become more common over the last 20 years  & will continue to grow in frequency as the wickedness of America grows - get used to it, because sin will wax worse & worse until the day of His appearing.  Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

3)  Whenever we see a tragedy such as this, I am amazed at some of the reactions from the Celeb circles... Let me share a small sampling:

Lindsay Lohan: This is absolutely horrifying. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families in Newton, CT. So unbelievably sad.
Rihanna: God have mercy!!!! No one deserves this! Praying for the families of the victims of the Connecticut shooting!! What a Christmas it will be
Joy Behar: My thoughts and prayers are with the families of Sandy Hook Elementary.
Joan Rivers: Hearing the news of the sad tragedy in CT. I’m horrified and heartbroken – my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Notice how all these celebrities (and many, many more) are offering up their 'prayers'?  I must ask - Who are you praying to, exactly?  Because it's NOT THE GOD OF THE BIBLE!  So much can be said about this but it's late, so I'll be brief.

a) The only prayer that has influence unto God by a lost person is that prayer of repentance John 9:31 - (and my guess is by the fruits of what I know of these I have listed is that they are most definitely lost & on their way to a devil's Hell)

b) If they are saved & in a back-slidden state employing the lifestyle they live God will not hear them. Psalm 66:18

Many people - whether celebrity or not - tend to call on God for comfort when something bad happens, or trials come - then spit in His face every other waking moment of their existence...  But alas, the Bible says:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  Galatians 6:7-8
